Dastkar Ranthambore was set up in the late 1980s to support displaced communities in Eastern Rajasthan who lost access to wood, water and farming lands when Ranthambhore National Park was created to help save the dwindling numbers of tigers. Today, 300 women artisans in the villages surrounding the tiger reserve, come together to create beautiful pieces using their distinctive Tiger motif and natural images. Dastkar also run an effluent treatment plant on their campus which treats pollutants discharged from the dyeing and printing activities.
